Archie Scott Gobber is a painter, sculptor and native Missourian working in Kansas City, Missouri. Gobber’s work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally, and resides in many museum, public and private collections.
Most recently his painting “Piece” was acquired by the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where he was an Artist in Residence in 2017. In 2011 he received an American Institute of Architects Allied Arts and Craftsmanship Honor Award for his public sculpture titled “Dream” for Missouri Bank and Trust Company. In 2005 Gobber was a Review Studio recipient and he was one of the first artist to receive a Charlotte Street Award in 1998.
Gobber continually mentors other artists, having taught at the Kansas City Art Institute, served as a mentor for the Charlotte Street Studio Recipients’ program, and as an advisor to the Review Studio’s program. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1988.
